Welcome to the World of Images from Cheltenham Camera Club
As the largest photographic club in Gloucestershire, we have a wealth of experience to support you, whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced worker.
We are now back meeting again at Holy Apostles Church Hall, GL52 6HW on Thursday evenings, operating with distanced seating a ventilated hall and optional use of face masks. We have also reinstated a hot beverage service during a half-time interval. Meetings are being recorded for online viewing by members unable to attend. A few meetings will also be held by Zoom. We are aiming to restart our separate focus groups and training sessions for members. We organise club outings, regular competitions and an annual exhibition. For the last few years, the club has managed the Gloucestershire Young Photographers competition and Cheltenham International Salon of Photography.
If you are interested in photography then join us now.
WHAT’S ON
Upcoming events
– The new Programme for 2022-23 is now available here
– First Tuesday Group
The First Tuesday Group is back up and running and is meeting at:
The Victory Club, Burlington House, Lypiatt Road, Cheltenham, GL50 2SY
For further details goto our Forum page here.
– 7 O’Clock Club
The next 7 o’clock session on 26th January will review and discuss the exhibition ‘Clear of People’ currently on at the Wilson Gallery until 4th February.
Photographer Michal Ivanowski recently repeated the long trek his grandfather and great uncle made in 1945 to flee Russia and get back to Poland. It was a harrowing trip – two companions died despite their best efforts to keep ‘Clear of People’. Michal’s pictures are not quite what we’re used to, so let’s see what we make of them. He has let me copy the pictures for our discussion, which will be a great help.
Do come along on the 26th. And do get to the exhibition.
Gloucestershire Young Photographer Competition 2023
Details of this year’s competition will be announced shortly. Emails will be sent to all Gloucestershire schools inviting pupils to take part. Please check back here for further details later this month.
